BELIEVE. BECOME. BE SENT. Our mission is to daily glorify God by shepherding others to BELIEVE in Jesus, BECOME like Jesus, and BE SENT by Jesus.

Venture Student Ministry is at its core a ministry to two groups of people: students between 6th and 12th grade and their parents. Our Associate Pastor of Students, Caleb Harris, leads this ministry alongside a group of excellent adult volunteers. Venture Student Ministry meets at least once a week with the goal of reaching our mission and vision.

Mission Statement

Venture Student Ministry serves as a ministry within the church body of Maumelle First Baptist Church and the wider, global body of Christ. Our student ministry exists as a partner to the parents and guardians of students in our local area for the duty of spiritually training those students in the areas of biblical knowledge, actionable discipleship, service, worship, and evangelism. It is our mission to create meaningful connections between students and the church body in order to foster an impactful faith which lasts their entire lifetime.

Current Venture Student Ministry Vision

We envision that within two years we will see most of our students being mentored through personal, intentional relationships with members of our church body. As our students grow older and more mature in their faith due to these mentoring relationships, we will additionally see them take responsibility through starting discipleship relationships with younger, less spiritually mature Christians. Through adult mentorships and student-to-student discipleship, we will see students enveloped in a loving community of discipleship and faith.

We envision that within three years a select number of students will be strong enough in their faith to step up into a role of leadership within our student ministry, assisting the adult leaders through sharing insights into the minds of students and being ambassadors of the ministry to the student portion of our church body. They will be given ample opportunities to learn about spiritual leadership through hands-on activities, such as leading a devotion or assisting in the organization of an event.

We envision that over the course of five years, hundreds of students’ lives will be touched and many students will come to accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior of their lives. Additionally, our students will be given multiple opportunities to live out the Great Commission as they serve locally, around our state, and beyond.
